All Grain - Armadillo Pale Ale (5.25 Gallon)

 

9lbs American 2 Row

1/2 lb 60L Crystal

1oz Nugget (Bittering)

1oz Amarillo (Flavor)

2oz Amarillo (Aroma)

 

White Labs California Ale Yeast

 

Bring strike water to 168 - 170F

Preheat Mash vessel with 1 -2 gallons of 170F and remove

Put 1 gallon strike water in Mash tun

Add grains - Add 2 more gallons - stir to make all grain wet

Cover and mash 90 minutes - Check temp should be around 155F

 

Sparge with 5-6 gallons of 170F water

Boil 60 minutes

1oz Nugget at start of boil

1oz Amarillo 15 minutes before end of boil

1oz Amarillo 5 minutes before end of boil

1oz Amarillo at knockout - heat off
